Solidifying its strong presence in the SUV market, Nissan today unveiled the all-new Nissan Terra in Burkina Faso. Launched via a media event, the tough yet sophisticated vehicle promises to be an ideal partner for families that are ready to take on the world together.

It effortlessly combines impressive strength with bold new design and built-for-comfort spaciousness. Underlining these features, you’ll find breakthrough engineering and a suite of cutting-edge Nissan Intelligent Mobility (NIM) technologies to offer a superior driving experience and adventure-ready excitement for families.

“The all-new Terra demonstrates how sophistication and boldness can work together to make a beautiful SUV that allows you drive with confidence,” said Stefan Haasbroek, Marketing Director at Nissan South Africa. “While it is tough enough for any terrain, it also offers best-in-class riding comfort for all passengers. It is designed with daily family life and exciting adventures in mind – a bold SUV that is ready for anything.”

A Confident and Refined Design

The all-new Nissan Terra embodies excellence, with boldly sculpted good looks and refined stylish accents throughout. LED tail lamps exude a crisp modern aesthetic that makes a progressive design statement while retaining everyday functionality. The Quad LED Projector headlamps with signature LED Daytime Running Lights ensure optimum visibility in all conditions. The two-tone 18-inch alloy wheels complete the stylish looks, ensuring that you drive in style no matter the terrain.

The front face has a powerful new V-motion grill with sleek, high-tech headlamps. They combine to create a distinctive front face that looks tough, modern, and upscale.

The proportions of the Terra are strong and bold. With its sculptured body, elegant chrome accents and low-profile aluminum roof rails, the new Terra reflects beauty and confidence from every angle.

The all-new Terra will be available in seven exterior colours.

 Premier interior experience

The all-new SUV’s refined exterior look is matched by an interior design that offers premium and unparalleled comfort. The upscale exterior is matched by premium interior colours that add to the richness of the vehicle, along with a choice of cloth or leather seat fabrics, grade dependent.

Expect a sleek driver cockpit and dashboard layout, with plush leather-appointed seats, leather stitched, multifunction steering wheel and gear lever. The Terra offers best-in-class ride comfort, thanks to NASA-inspired Zero Gravity front row seats that assist in reducing fatigue on those long family trips.

Take On Any Adventure

Haasbroek adds that: “While it was important to make the all-new Nissan Terra look bold and strong, it was vital that the performance capability lived up to its design.”

The Terra is equipped with a versatile ladder-frame chassis, reinforced to give it greater rigidity for an authentic off-road drive. It also features a five-link coil spring rear suspension system and rigid rear-wheel axle, ensuring that comfort and convenience are not compromised by its strength and durability.

Powering the all-new Terra is a 2.5-liter petrol or 2.5-litre diesel engine, available in both a six-speed manual transmission and seven-speed automatic transmission. The petrol engines deliver 124kW /166 hp and 241Nm of torque, while the turbo diesel engine delivers 140kW /188 hp and 450Nm of torque -ensuring an exciting drive with speed and acceleration.

The SUV also features an “On The Fly 4X4” dial system that allows drivers to quickly shift from two-wheel drive to a 4x4 drive – providing maximum fuel efficiency on the highway for navigating any weather and road conditions with peak control.

The vehicle also includes Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control to give you maximum driving confidence. Also included are Smart features like Brake Limited Slip Differential and Electronic Locking Rear Differential, which delivers equal power to the rear wheels to boost traction.

Tech-Forward Comfort

Having a strong and dependable SUV doesn’t mean passengers miss out on comfort and modern features. The all-new Terra offers best-in-class interior space, has an amphitheater-style seat layout on the second and third row and the best-in-class interior volume.

The first-class treatment continues with individual climate controls for each row. At high speeds, the cabin stays quiet thanks to significant sound-deadening efforts around the engine compartment.

“It was also important to make it as easy as possible for all members of the family to get in and out of the rear seats with a remote fold-down second row feature”, says Haasbroek.

The all-new Terra has a 60/40 split-folding second row and a 50/50 split third row give plenty of cargo-carrying options, while folded-down the second and third rows create a completely flat cargo floor.

It also provides seamless connectivity to your smartphone, equipped with go-to apps such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Passengers can keep all their gadgets powered up with wireless charging as well as USB ports, including USB-C. Additionally, NissanConnect brings Bluetooth, navigation and more to the driving experience.

Safety-Minded

Several active safety systems in the Nissan Terra also make it the best SUV for family adventures. Nissan’s Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection is a class-exclusive feature in the all-new SUV. It gives a bird’s-eye view of the vehicle’s surroundings which is perfect for backing up and parallel parking and to detect any moving objects.

“These advanced safety features on the all-new Terra along with on-and off-road capability, comfort and the latest technology are a perfect match for today’s adventure-seeking SUV families,” Haasbroek concluded.
